Ballot and Thought

Description

The Ballot counter tallies up votes for best Table Topics Speaker, Best Speaker and Best Evaluator

Responsibilities prior to meeting

Prepare a thought of the day and memorize it.

Responsibilities during meeting

When called upon by the TM, stand and explain your job to the members.

Be prepared for a flurry of little slips of paper that everyone will hand you after members have been asked to vote for one of the three ribbon positions. Keep the uncounted and counted ballots separated as it is easy to mix them up! As a ballot counter, you don't vote unless there is a tie.

Tally the votes and write on a slip of paper who won Best Table Topics, Best Speaker and Best Evaluator. Hand this paper to the Toastmaster towards the end of the meeting.

At the end of the meeting, the TM will call on you to give the club a parting thought. Send us out into the world with something to think about.

Special notes

Make sure you do not double count or forget to count ballots. The little pieces of paper are hard to keep track of. Make up some sort of system to keep your count accurate.

Memorize, do not read your thought of the day! This is a short speaking opportunity and a good chance to practice without notes.
