Invocation and PledgeDescriptionThe IP leads the club in the Pledge of Allegiance and starts the meeting off with an Invocation or an exhortation. An exhortation is meaningful communication intended to urge or persuade the recipients to take some action. Make it meaningful. Responsibilities prior to meetingPrepare an invocation or exhortation. Memorize it! This is a short speaking opportunity, rehearse it just as you would any speech. Responsibilities during meetingWhen called upon by the TM, stand and and give us your invocation/exhortation. At its conclusion…say “Now, please join me in the Plege of Allegiance”.
